Seeing a user name that makes you think “oh maybe this is someone I used to know!” Then being unsure, feeling too timid to ask directly, then being too depressed about lost friends and the fact that probably you won’t truly reconnect to search them out elsewhere.
(I know these are problems with myself as well as with the internet, but it wouldn’t happen without the internet…)
